Ski California Privacy Policy
Ski California Industry Association and its affiliates (collectively, “Ski California,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) know that you care how information about you is collected and used. We take great pride in the relationships we have developed with our visitors and customers and we are committed to treating Personal Information we obtain from you with care and respect. This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) is designed to inform you about our privacy policies and practices. This Privacy Policy is part of the Terms of Use published on our Website.
Scope of the Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all Personal Information collected by us, whether collected online, offline, or through other means, including, without limitation, when you visit any website owned by Ski California where the Privacy Policy is posted (our “Website”). When we use the term “Personal Information,” we mean information that would be considered Personal Information, personal data, personally identifiable information, or similar terms under applicable data privacy and security laws and regulations such as an individual’s name, postal address, email addresses, and telephone number. Personal Information does not include data excluded or exempted from those laws and regulations, such as aggregated, anonymized, or deidentified information that cannot be associated with a specific individual.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to information about our employees, or to information that is not Personal Information.
Consent to the Policy
By visiting our Website, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy, you should not use our Website. Where required by law, we will provide clear, upfront notice and obtain your consent.
Personal Information We Collect and How We Use It
We collect Personal Information during the course of operating our business, including through our Website and when you interact with us. We use this information to provide you with our products and services, facilitate your purchases, and to meet our reasonable business needs.
We collect Personal Information in a variety of ways.
Information You Actively Provide
We collect the Personal Information you actively provide when you use our Website, purchase a product, or interact with us. We use the Personal Information you provide to deliver the products and services that you request, to process purchases you have made on our Website, to communicate with you about your purchases, and to send you personalized communications about products and services that we think might be of interest to you.
In addition to collecting Personal Information about you, we may collect information that you submit about other people. For example, if you order a Gold Pass as a gift and want to send it directly to the recipient, you must submit the recipient’s name and address. By providing us with Personal Information relating to an individual other than yourself, you represent that you have their consent/authority to provide us with their Personal Information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Examples of Personal Information collected include:
- name and contact information to identify and communicate with you;
- payment card information to process transactions;
- age and/or birth date to ensure appropriate product pricing and know more about who is enjoying our products and services.
Information Provided by Others
From time to time, we may supplement the information you give us with information from third parties. For example, we may supplement your profile with demographic and preference data or we may correct mailing addresses by using public sources. By supplementing your profile, we are better able to provide product recommendations and special offers that will be of genuine interest to you. We may also use this information to further personalize our Website, to improve your experience while you are on our Website, and to communicate with you about additional products and services.

We collect information that is automatically sent to us by your web browser. This information typically includes your IP address; the name and version of your operating system; the name and version of your browser; the page you were visiting before you accessed our Website; and the date and time of your visit. The information we receive depends on the settings of your browser. Please check your browser if you want to learn what information your browser sends or how to change your settings. Generally, we use this information to create statistics that help us improve our Website and make it more compatible with the technology used by our visitors. This information is also used for marketing purposes and to improve your experience on the Website.
We may collect IP addresses for purposes of system administration, to report traffic data to our corporate partners, and to audit the use of our Website. Although the information provided by your browser does not identify you personally, this data can be combined with other data to personally identify you.
Information Collected from Inquiries, Chat Sessions, Surveys, Feedback
We may collect your name, contact information and comments or questions when you submit an inquiry or comment, participate in a chat session, or otherwise provide us with feedback about our business. If you engage with the chat feature on our Website, we may monitor and record the conversation. By continuing, you consent to the recording and to our sharing of chat transcripts with our third-party service provider. Please note that chat sessions are most likely with an automated program and not a real person, and information relating to your communications may be shared with our chat service provider.
We may also collect information in a satisfaction survey. These surveys may include optional questions regarding your income, education, race/ethnicity, or gender which, if answered, help us to learn more about our customers and how we can improve our business and public engagement. We may use this information to respond to your question and to improve our business, products, services, and programs.
Telephone Calls
We may record calls into and out of our offices for the purpose of maintaining accurate records, and for quality assurance and training purposes. By remaining on the line during a call, you consent to the recording. We will retain call recordings for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes.
Cookies
We collect information through technology, such as cookies, flash cookies, pixels, and web beacons, when you visit our Website. A “cookie” is a small piece of data sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive that send information about your online browsing habits, including login and browsing history, button impressions, and personal preferences. Cookies also tell us under which account a user is logged in to our Website, where applicable. We may use cookies to help us provide customized services. Cookies may also be used by Ski California’s corporate partners on co-branded web pages. Your web browser may allow you to adjust settings, choose a Do Not Track option, or to disable cookies. If you choose not to accept these cookies, your experience at our Website and other websites may be diminished and some features will not work as intended.
Some technologies may capture your interactions (such as clicks, keystrokes, scrolls, and page views), which we may record, replay, and share with our third-party providers.
Our Website may use technologies that record your interactions, such as session replay tools or chat logs, to help us improve our services and for security purposes. Where required by law, we will provide notice and obtain your consent before using such technologies.
We honor browser-enabled opt-out signals (such as Global Privacy Control) where required by law for sale, sharing, and targeted advertising preferences.
Advertising Servers
We may engage third party advertising and analytics providers (e.g. Google, Meta) that use to display advertisements on our behalf, place our banner ads on other websites, and provide us analytics data. These third parties may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to track your engagement with our advertisements and to track your use of our Websites and other websites. These cookies, pixels, and similar technologies help advertising networks to provide advertisements about products and services tailored to your inferred interest and to provide us with information on how you interact with the content on our Websites - for example, the webpage content that you click on, the duration of your visit to our Website, and what website you visited prior to ours. Those companies may also perform tracking and reporting activities on the ads they serve for us, as well as user reaction. Third-party advertising servers are subject to their own privacy policies. Our service providers are bound by contract to keep your Personal Information confidential and use it only to perform services on our behalf.

Ski California does not sell your Personal Information to outside marketers or advertisers. Under limited circumstances we may disclose the Personal Information we collect with outside parties for specific purposes. Those circumstances are described below along with some of the steps we take to limit the manner in which your Personal Information is used.
With Service Providers
We may share your information with companies that provide support services to us (such as credit card processors, mailing houses, or web hosts) or that help us market our products and services (such as email vendors, Meta Pixel, etc.). These companies may need information about you in order to perform their functions. These companies are only authorized to use the Personal Information we share with them for the purpose of delivering the service we hire them to provide. In addition, we only disclose the information they need to provide the specific service or function. We will not sell your Personal Information to third party marketing or advertising firms. Where our vendors support our communications tools (e.g., chat, call recording, session replay), they access the content of communications only as our service providers under written agreements prohibiting interception, secondary use, or disclosure. For information on how to opt out of analytics and advertising, see our “Your Choices” section.
Personal information collected on the Website or as a result of a purchase made by you may also be shared with member resorts of Ski California Industry Association.

If some or all of the business assets of our Company or Website are sold or transferred, we generally would transfer the corresponding information regarding our guests and customers to the acquiring business so that they can continue to operate the business, but your information would remain subject to this Privacy Policy.

In certain special cases, we may disclose your Personal Information when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to you, Ski California or someone else.
